ABOUT tamara jack
I've been known as "The Empress" as a joke on Facebook for quite a few years. And then in 2018 I became an Anglo-Catholic, thus began the teasing and calling myself the "Anglo-Empress." It's all fun and games, and the people I'm in touch with banter back and forth about whether I should use my imaginary guillotine on my detractors.
On a serious note, I am just a gal in Missouri who loves the Lord Jesus Christ, is a Mom of two men! Unbelievable to me that these boys are so old. The oldest I held in my arms at seventeen years old will now be thirty-four soon. Blows my mind.
I am disabled, much homebound and some bedridden (I have my good days where I'm able to be out of the bed quite a bit and bad days where I'm in it 75% or more that day). The good thing is that I'm allowed out of my straitjacket sometimes and I flee my padded walls for the great outdoors with one of my caregivers.
When I am well enough I enjoy cooking with my caregiver. And there are times I can make a meal on my own, but I have to take it in bits and pieces as standing or sitting for too long is a drain on me. I love to write (and am writing a memoir about my life), crochet, make rosaries (see Assisi Rosaries!), pray, and read. Oh, boy, have you heard of the kids who were told, "get your nose out of that book and go play!" when they were younger? Yes, that was me. And I hid in book stores and libraries, trying not to get caught and told we have to go home. Basically, I'm a nerd. But an Anglo-Nerd. ;) I sometimes blog about the books I read and give reviews on my Blog.
I am a Franciscan Postulant in a Franciscan Order.
Our Rule:
1) Submit to Christ as Lord
2) Love as Christ commanded
3) Pray morning and evening prayer liturgically and/or extemporaneously
4) Read something from the Scriptures daily
5) Receive Communion often (if possible)
And serve as we are called and led by God.
A recent goal I have met is losing 90 lbs. over a year's time. And did it being disabled and unable to exercise! Pretty amazing to me. I've learned to live a different lifestyle and choose foods that fuel my body rather than drag it down. There's a tab up there ^^^ about my Weight Loss Journey if you are interested. I have some pretty interesting before and after photos. There's more to lose, and will continue doing so until I hit my ultimate goal. Pray I keep making good choices for my body!
